Enable Clover Cash Discount

A cash discount program lets you set prices that include card processing fees. When customers pay with cash, those fees are removed, and the savings are passed on to them as a discount. It’s a simple, transparent way to reduce credit card processing costs and build customer loyalty.

Please note: Compliant cash discounting requires that you display the higher price on your printed menus/menu boards. Re-printing menus with the higher prices is required to be in compliance with federal regulations. NY & CA Merchants must display both the cash and card prices on the shelf/menu.

 

On the dashboard

  1. Log in to your Clover dashboard.

  2. Select Settings  > View all settings. 

  3. Select Transactions > Payments > Cash Discount.

  4. Select Enable to turn Cash Discount.

  5. View the Terms and Conditions and select the checkbox to accept the Terms and Conditions.

  6. (Optional) Automatically increase all item prices in your inventory to account for the Cash Discount markup.

  7. (Optional) Choose which payment methods you would like to apply the Cash Discount to.

  8. To manage your Cash Discount preferences at any time, select Settings > Transactions > Payments > Cash Discount.

On a Clover device

  1. On a Station, Mini, Flex, Kiosk, or Compact, open the Setup app.

  2. Tap Payments.

  3. Scroll down and tap Cash Discount.

  4. Select the checkbox to enable Cash Discount.

  5. Enter your preferred discount percentage and tap Save.

  6. Accept the terms and conditions.
